Professional Development Coordinator

Taylor graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in May of 2012 with a bachelor’s degree in middle grades math and social studies education. She has taught math at a leading project-based institution in North Carolina for two years. While there, she grew in her love of empowering students to use the concepts they learn in class to make an impact in their community. Taylor interned at Uhuru Academy in the summer of 2013 and was inspired by the girls and staff at the school. She is ecstatic to return to Kenya to continue to apply her skills (and learn new ones!) as a teacher trainer. Taylor believes that quality education is the best way to combat poverty and she is honored to do her part by helping grow Uhuru Academy into an excellent institution with outstanding instruction for girls from poverty. Hiking, baking, and Calculus are among Taylor’s most treasured after-school hobbies.
