Ruth Wairimu will graduate Uhuru Academy in 2018. She lives at an IDP camp in Maai Mahui with her parents and eight siblings. When Ruth grows up, she would like to become an accountant. One of Ruth’s favorite things to do is dance. She says that she feels proud and inspired when dancing. Ruth loves Uhuru Academy because the teachers treat the students well and even counsel them when they have a problem. She believes that it is very important for teachers to counsel students through self-esteem issues, claiming that confidence is a necessary character trait for leadership. Ruth believes education is the key to everything; without it, one can’t get a job.
